Composition of Judges' Panels at ISU Championships |
ISU Championship Judges are presently no longer listed under their respective country banners. This is the result of a new rule that was accepted at the ISU Congress in Quebec City in June 2000. The Judges are intended to act in the name of the ISU.
The new rule states that "For ISU Championships, the panel of Judges shall consist only of Judges on the current lists of Judges for ISU Championships and all Judges must be designated ISU."
The passing of this rule is part of a preliminary step toward the possible establishment of a new Judges Evaluation System. The new System would aim to create a structure and procedure in line with the global expansion and developments in Figure Skating over the past decade. This system has been under study for the past two years and further developments are being prepared for a Congress proposal in 2002.
