| Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating 2001, Ostrava (CZE) |
The second qualifying event (initially scheduled to be the third event) of the Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating is taking place in Ostrava (CZE) on September 27-28, 2001. The Junior Grand Prix series now comprises seven events instead of eight, after the ISU and the USFSA announced the cancellation of the second Junior Grand Prix event that was due to be held on September 20-23 in Phoenix (USA), as a result of the terrorist attacks on the USA.
For security reasons, the USFSA has taken further measures by officially canceling the participation of its team in this season's ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating series. Additionally, as a precaution, Skate Canada has withdrawn its skaters from the event in Ostrava (CZE) this weekend.
The full list of entries is attached and final results of the competition are available directly from the ISU Internet site on ww2.isu.org . Immediate results of the competition can be obtained by clicking on the link to the Organizer's Internet site.
A total of 54 entries from 21 Member Federations are competing to win medals and earn points in the hope of qualifying for the Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final which will be held in Bled, Slovenia on December 13-16, 2001.
Although the Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating series has been reduced to seven events, the prize money distribution will remain unchanged.
