| Communication No. 1149: ISU Awards |
The Council at its meeting on October 12-14, 2001 in Lisbon, made the following decisions about ISU awards:
1. Previous awards
There will no longer be awards named after individuals. However, the existing awardees of the Jacques Favart Trophy and Georg Häsler medal will continue to be listed in the ISU Constitution and General Regulations.
2. Honorary Membership
The award of "ISU Honorary Member" will be awarded on the Council's prerogative and confirmed by the Congress.
3. ISU Gold Award of Merit
An "ISU Gold Award of Merit" will be instated. This will be awarded on the decision of the Council to ISU Office Holders and other individuals who have served the ISU sport disciplines for at least ten years. The award will recognize their contribution to the sport at international level.
4. ISU Diploma of Service
An "ISU Diploma of Service" will be instated. This will be awarded to persons who have served the ISU well over many years, for example retired Referees. Diplomas of Service will automatically be awarded to persons currently on the ISU lists of Honorary Referees and Judges. The titles of Honorary Referee and Honorary Judge will be discontinued and the names will no longer be listed in the annual ISU List of Referees and Judges.
