The ISU wishes to inform Members that the following Sponsored Special Topic Judges Seminars will be organized.

Members are invited to send in the names of up to three (3) ISU Championship or International Competition Judges, who in the view of their respective Member, already possess a good knowledge of the Presentation Mark and therefore have the ability to learn and understand the concept of the Interpretive Free Skating Program. The first priority will go to Judges who have not yet attended a Presentation Mark/Interpretive Free Skating Seminar. These Judges should also have a very good knowledge of the English language. A Member whose Judge/s does not display a very good knowledge of English, in the opinion of the Figure Skating Technical Committee, shall reimburse the ISU for the living expenses (room and meals) and travel costs where paid by the ISU.

    2. Change of the date of the ISU Recognized Judges Seminar in Moscow, Russia

This seminar will be held September 20-22, 2001

    3. Rule 425 paragraph 6 c)

Members are reminded that the living expenses (bed and board) for Judges having to fulfill the provisions of the Rule 425 paragraph 6 c) will be borne by the ISU. Therefore Members that have had Judges attending ISU Recognized National Judges Seminars this season to fulfill this Rule, may apply to the ISU secretariat no later than July 1st to claim their reimbursement

    4. Timings of Programs, Reminder and Clarification to all Referees/Judges/Coaches and Skaters.

It has been brought to the attention of the Figure Skating Technical Committee that in both the Short Program and the Free Skating Programs the skater/s are not always arriving at a complete stop at the end of their programs, but in some cases just glide on to no definite conclusion. The programs are timed from when the skater/s start to move or skate until they reach a complete stop, therefore many programs run the risk of a time deduction as the duration of the program only stops when the skater stops, not just the music.
