In one of the required lifts the dismount may include a carry. In addition the simple carrying of a partner without rotation is allowed only once. This carry may be executed with full extension of the arm(s), or without full extension of the arm(s). In carries only the usual holds: hand-to-hand, hand-to-arm and hand-to-body are allowed. The holding of the lady by the leg is allowed only in small lifts in which the man does not raise his hands higher than shoulder level. The carrying of one partner by the other on the back, shoulders or knees and movements (other than small lifts) in which the lady is supported by leg holds entirely off the ice are illegal.
