The ISU Council held a meeting on June 11, 17 and 18, 2000 in Quebec, Canada. The following decisions have been taken:

4. Appointment of new Medical Advisors
The Council appointed Dr. Harm Kuipers (NED) and Dr. Hiroya Sakai (JAP) as new members of the Medical Advisors. The composition of the Medical Advisors is now as follows:
5. Appointment of new Chairperson of the Coaches Commission
The Council, in consideration of Rule 142, paragraph 1 b) which requires the rotation of the Chairperson of the Coaches Commission every two years, appointed Mr. Günter Schumacher as the new Chairperson. He replaces Ms. Krisztina Regöczy who was Chairperson from June 1998 to June 2000. The composition of the Coaches Commission is now as follows:

6. Georg Häsler Medal
The ISU Council decided to award the Georg Häsler Medal to:
The Georg Häsler Medal is awarded in memory of Mr. Georg Häsler, who served the ISU as Honorary Secretary for 29 years from 1947 to 1975.

ISU Members are invited to propose nominees for the award of the medal. Proposals of nominees must be received by the ISU Secretariat in Lausanne not later than April 15th of each year. The nominees will be considered by the ISU Council at its subsequent meeting and the awards announced in an ISU Communication.
7. Retirement of Jacques Favart Trophy
The Council decided that the Jacques Favart Trophy will be retired and that a new trophy/ award for athletes will be announced shortly. A future Communication will give all details of the new trophy/ award including how nominations may be made.
8. Educational "How To" video series
The Council decided to move forward with an innovative new project which aims to provide educational material on how to teach, perform and evaluate elements of skating. It will be available gradually on video (VHS), CD Rom and the Internet and will cover all areas pertaining to the interests of the ISU, ie. skating, coaching and judging.
All ISU sports disciplines will eventually be included in the project, with priority being given to Figure Skating and Ice Dance, followed by Speed Skating, Short Track Speed Skating and finally Synchronized Skating. The aim is to deliver at least the first part of the product by the end of 2001 and further information will be given in due course.
9. Date and place of the ISU June Council Meeting 2001
The 2001 ISU Office Holders Conference will take place on June 11, 2001 and the ISU June Council Meeting will be held on June 12-14, 2001 in Lausanne, Switzerland.
