International Skating Union Figure Skating Results Grand Prize SNP Banska Bystrica, Slovak Republic Oct. 29 - Nov. 1, 1998 Eighth Event of the Junior Grand Prix Series

In the last event of this series, Johnny Weir (USA), won the men’s event. Due to his first appearance in the series, he is only placed 16th in the overall rankings. Placed second is Lukas Rakowski (CZE) who placed fifth in Germany, and moves up to seventh place in the overall rankings and qualifies for the Final in Detroit. Matthew Davies (GBR) who placed third, has now a total of 20 points in two events, which places him ninth, just missing a spot for the Final.

In the Ladies event, Victoria Volchkova (RUS), winner of the Junior Grand Prix event in Ukraine a month ago, beat Tamara Dorofejev (HUN) to take the maximum 30 points from two competitions and seconds the list of qualifiers for the Final in Detroit, after Nikoleava (RUS) with also 30 points. Dorofejev (HUN), the victor in the Bulgarian event, also qualifies for the Final with 28 points overall.

Laura Handy and Paul Binnebose (USA) won the Pairs event. Added to their second place in Germany, the American duo moved up to fifth place in the overall rankings and win a place in the Final.

Natalia Romanyuta and Daniel Barantsev (RUS) won the Dance event. They now move up the fourth place in the overall rankings after their second place in Bulgaria and will also participate in the Final.
